Pair this easy make-ahead breakfast casserole with some tasty sides like fresh fruit and bite-size pumpkin bagels for the perfect holiday brunch!
My friends, the holidays are HERE. For reals here. I’m planning my Thanksgiving menu (we are hosting at least 18 people) and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Anyone else in the same boat?
I can’t imagine how much extra stress I’d be feeling if I weren’t all about simplifying—make-ahead mashed potatoes, slow cooker creamy corn, boxed stuffing (I grew up on the stuff and it’s still my favorite), and insisting someone else make the pies.
Of course, there’s more to holiday entertaining than Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. And I’m not talking about appetizers…although those are top on my list.
I’m talking about a seasonal holiday brunch with a yummy make-ahead breakfast casserole. I know what you’re thinking. “Why would I make the holidays even crazier by hosting friends and family for brunch?” Believe it or not, putting together a holiday brunch can be pretty dang simple and a nice break from holiday shopping.
If you want to keep it simple AND impress guests, serve this make-ahead breakfast casserole (I prefer sausage but you can use diced ham or crumbled bacon) along with some fresh fruit, fresh juice (orange and guava are fun!), pastries (buy ’em, don’t make ’em) and these delightful bite-size stuffed bagels.
The make-ahead breakfast casserole is super easy thanks to only a handful of ingredients (bread, eggs, milk, salt, dry mustard, sharp cheddar cheese and sausage) and unbelievable delicious. It may not look all fancy and gourmet, but no one is going to care because it’s so. dang. good.
I always have seconds, and everyone to whom I’ve served it has had seconds. And thirds.
When I served this easy make-ahead breakfast casserole with the new NANCY’S Pumpkin Petite Stuffed Bagels, the pairing was a huge hit. Those bites of bagel goodness are not only fun to eat but a super delicious part of a seasonal holiday brunch. Trust me on this one.
NANCY’S Petite Stuffed Bagels are freshly baked bagels made with fresh milk and real cream—and they’re ready to serve and enjoy in minutes! NANCY’S bite-size bagels come in a variety of flavors including Original, Jalapeño, Cinnamon and Pumpkin. The Pumpkin Petite Stuffed Bagels are packed with fall flavor thanks to a creamy filling (PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese blended with pumpkin puree) surrounded by a soft, tasty pumpkin spice bagel (exclusively at Walmart).
Run, don’t walk, to your nearest Walmart to grab a couple boxes of NANCY’S Petite Stuffed Bagels. (Here’s a coupon for $1 off your NANCY’S purchase!) They’re ready in seconds and are the perfect addition to holiday entertaining.
Heck, I’m tempted to grab the Jalapeño flavor for a Thanksgiving Day appetizer! While there, grab enough ingredients to make two make-ahead breakfast casseroles (I like to do one ham and one sausage) because once you make it, your family will be requesting it multiple times during that long holiday break!
