Cuisine Adventures French Onion Soup From Costco

Costco’s French onion soup has all the same ingredients as traditional French onion soup, such as onion, Swiss cheese, toast, garlic, and some spices. The soup is precooked before freezing to preserve the flavor. In almost any company that makes pre-cooked food, flash freezing is used to keep food fresh for a longer period of time without losing its flavor.

A Cuisine Adventure French onion soup package comes with 6 servings, with each being about 10 ounces in size. Costco sells it for about $9.49.

    Costco’s French Onion Soup Ingredients

Onions, broth, Swiss cheese, and croutons are the main ingredients of Costco’s French onion soup. The following is a complete list of ingredients in Costco’s French onion soup according to the Cuisine Adventures website.

    • Broth: Water, cooked vegetables [onion, carrot, celery], sunflower oil, salt, onion and carrot powder, yeast extract, brown sugar, sugar, canola oil, roasted malted barley, and flavor.

    • Croutons: Enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, sunflower oil, yeast, salt, ascorbic acid).
    • Onions
    • Garlic
    • Salt

How Long Do You Cook French Onion Soup From Costco?

The package instructions for Costco’s French onion soup states that you should cook the frozen soup in the oven for 40 minutes at 400 F (200 C). However, in my experience and according to many other reviews, it will take between 55 minutes and 60 minutes to heat the soup in a 400 F oven.

Reheating Costco’s French onion soup in the microwave will take about 5 to 7 minutes to heat. Meanwhile, you’ll need between 30 and 35 minutes at 400 F to heat it in an air fryer, although reheating will take less time in some air fryers.

Important: You should heat the French onion soup until the temperature reaches 170 F to 180 F.

I thought it was a little bland. Added thyme, garlic pepper a dash of cayenne and salt.
