An Easy Pork Chop Dinner Recipe

I like cooking oven-baked pork chops because they’re super easy to make and require very little preparation and cleanup. Additionally, since they cook in the oven, you can take care of other things without having to pay constant attention to them.

With an easy oven recipe, you don’t need to fire up the grill and mess around with a pan. I simply allow the pork chops to defrost in the refrigerator before work and cook them when I get home.

Delicious Pork Chops With Only Four Simple Ingredients

This recipe uses bone-in pork chops, which are typically more flavorful and juicy than boneless. I like to season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper and then coated with a mixture of brown sugar and paprika. The brown sugar and paprika provide a sweet and savory quality to the pork.

How Long Should You Bake Pork Chops at 400 F?

You should cook pork chops to an internal temperature of 145 F. This should take about 20 to 25 minutes in a 400 F oven, allowing the pork chops to rest for 3 minutes.

What Temperature Should Bone-in Pork Chops Be Cooked At?

Whether you are preparing bone-in pork chops or boneless pork chops by grilling, baking, sautéing, roasting, broiling, or pan-frying, they should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 F. As a result, having a thermometer is helpful to have.

What Ingredients Do I Need to Make Baked Bone-in Pork Chops?

    For serving 2 people:

    • 2 bone-in pork chops
    • 2 teaspoon brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon fresh black pepper

What is the Best Seasoning to Use for Pork Chops?

For pork chops, I always season them with these ingredients:

    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Brown Sugar
    • Paprika

You can season the pork chops with this mixture instead if you like:

    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Paprika
    • Onion Powder
    • Cumin
    • Chili Powder

Here are some other seasonings that go well with pork:

    • Sage
    • Olive Oil
    • Rosemary
    • Cayenne
    • Thyme
    • Coriander
    • Brown Sugar
    • Lemon Juice

How to Make Oven-Baked Bone-In Pork Chops

There are different ways to prepare pork chops. Some people season the pork chops with salt, black pepper and paprika, and then they rub the mixture onto the pork chops liberally. Meanwhile, others mix the salt, black pepper, paprika, and olive oil before putting it into the bag, adding the pork chops to coat, and then letting them sit for 2 hours or more so the pork chops will absorb the seasoning.

Both of these methods are awesome and give great results. However, if you would like a particularly quick dinner, here are some instructions to make oven-baked pork chops:

    • Preheat the oven to 325 F.
    • Mix the brown sugar, paprika, salt and pepper in a bowl until combined. Rub the mixture onto both sides of the pork chops liberally. If desired, add 1 tablespoon olive oil or lemon juice to add more flavor and help the seasoning coat the pork chops better.
    • Place the pork chops in a foil-lined shallow baking dish.
    • Bake the pork chops on the middle rack of a 325 F oven for about 25 minutes, turning the pork chops over after 15 minutes.
    • Start checking the internal temperature after 20 minutes to avoid overcooking the pork chops.
    • Serve the pork chops immediately with your favorite side dishes.

What to Serve With Oven-Baked Bone-In Pork Chops

I prefer to serve pork chops with baked green beans. I usually use frozen green beans that I seasoned with salt and pepper and bake alongside the pork chops.

You can also serve the pork chops with baked potatoes or sweet potatoes. Simply pierce them with a fork all over and bake them along with the pork chops. Then, for serving them, you can cut them in half and season them with salt and black pepper.

Here is a full list of what you can serve with pork chops:

    • Baked Green Beans
    • Baked Potatoes or Sweet Potatoes
    • Mashed Potatoes
    • Mayonnaise or Ketchup
    • Waffle Fries
    • Fries
    • Sweet Potato Fries
    • Baby Potatoes
    • Mashed Potatoes
    • Garlic Sauce with Garlic, Mayonnaise, Lemon Juice, Salt, and Black Pepper
