This pumpkin spice protein smoothie combines creamy pumpkin and spices with almond milk and dates for a fall-inspired on-the-go breakfast.

In July I posted a summer-friendly healthy strawberry orange protein smoothie. It was delightful. But now it’s September and the leaves are changing, so why not blend up a smoothie consistent with those autumn colors and flavors?
I’ll be honest. I prefer my pumpkin in the form of four-ingredient pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bars or pumpkin bundt cake. But those are far from healthy. With the holidays around the corner, it’s probably best to indulge in a pumpkin spice protein smoothie for breakfast rather than cinnamon sugar pumpkin mini muffins.
Don’t let the ingredients list fool you; this creamy pumpkin spice protein smoothie is super easy to throw together. The list looks lengthy due to all those spice pinches. If you don’t have dates on hand, you can try a different sweetener like honey (to taste). Also, I bet you could even use vanilla yogurt or Greek yogurt if you’re out of almond milk, though you may need to add a little skim milk to adjust consistency.
