I usually don’t make many New Year’s resolutions, and by “many” I mean “any.” But this year I decided I needed to do more than just pin things on Pinterest—I should actually make things I pin on Pinterest.
Of course, the easiest board to start with is my food board. Don’t get me wrong, I love pinning crafts but actually crafting them gives me a slight case of the hives.
This week I made a slow cooker tomato basil Parmesan soup…and it was delicious. (Of course it was or I wouldn’t blog about it. That would be like asking you to smell something I had just told you smelled really, really nasty.)

Easy to make with very little prep other than chopping a few veggies. Now that’s my kind of crock pot recipe and my kind of soup!
The family loved it and the leftovers were just as good. Definitely pin this, and if you don’t pin it, print it! You can find the original recipe on 365 Days of Slow Cooking.
I’ve listed the ingredients below to give you an idea of what you’ll need. I often like to know the ingredients so I know if I can make it without making a trip to the grocery store. Of course, this one is worth the trip!
Canned diced tomatoes Celery Carrots Onion Dried oregano Dried basil Chicken broth |
Bay leaf Flour Parmesan cheese Butter Half & half Salt Black pepper |

Is this a Paula Deen recipe? :) Let’s pour on the cheese!
Emily
Paula would definitely approve of more cheese, but alas, it’s a recipe from the 365 Days of Slow Cooking blog. ;)

Let’s discuss how your comments on my blog make me smile? Also, how much I can’t wait to have a big girl blog so I can reply back. Until then? I love you.
Emily
Mine is not a big girl blog. It is just full of useful WordPress plugins. ;) YOU make me smile. See? I’m smiling. :)

This post sounds a whole lot like my latest post! K now I will try this one!
Emily
I saw you had a Pinterest post but when I clicked on the link from my Google reader, I got a “File Not Found” error. I am going back right now to see if I can find it! **UPDATE: I found it and holy cow, those carmelitas look DELICIOUS!

Mmm, I love soup. This one looks delicious. I like the idea of Pinterest, but it so overwhelms me! So many great ideas, so little time… I’ll just live vicariously through you while you try out all your pinned recipes, k? ;) At least while I’m a law student.
Emily
Amanda, I live vicariously through a lot of people…you know, like when they head to Hawaii to live for a few months. ;) I will pin, prep and pass it along!
Jamie
I have this pinned too…will have to try soon if you say it’s good. Tonight it’s cafe rio shredded pork, thank you so much!

Emily
I really did think it was good, so hopefully you’ll love it too! And you’re welcome on that Cafe Rio shredded pork…we could drink the accompanying dressing by the gallon!

That looks yummy! I came here to find your pesto/cream cheese dip recipe so I could tell you we tried it and DIED over how good it was, and then I got all starry-eyed and lost in this post. I’m going to bed now before I raid the fridge. (As if I haven’t already done that 3 or more times tonight!)
Emily
Isn’t that dip just so yummy! And you have all the ingredients on hand if you stock up on pesto from Costco. :) I love raiding the fridge and do it at all hours of the day and night…
