If I had a bazillion dollars—or even mid six figures a year—I’d get a massage and facial at least once a month, maybe twice if it were my birthday, Mother’s Day or Christmas. I love getting pampered, and I especially love a good massage and quality facial. While I don’t get massages often, I’ve had enough to know when I’m getting an awesome massage. And as far as facials, I go by how my skin feels and reacts the 24 to 48 hours post treatment.
I’m here to say the new Mountainside Spa in Holladay, Utah (east of Market Street Grill) gives both an amazing massage and facial, a combo you can get with their Mountainside Retreat package. It’s basically a 75-minute mini vacay from reality. And it’s heavenly.
See this massage table? It looks like your typical massage table but it definitely is NOT.
It’s a magical table because IT’S HEATED. Yes, I said heated. It’s the first time I’ve ever received a massage on a heated massage table. The warmer linens combined with Ariel’s mad skills had my body more relaxed than in massages past. In fact, it may have taken me a few minutes to pull myself together once I rolled off the table…but in a good way.
Amanda, who gave me my facial, cleansed, exfoliated, masked, massaged and moisturized my face and décolleté until I felt more like 31 than nearly 41. Mountainside Spa uses Eminence Organics skin care and I’m already saving up to buy their Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafolient. It had the perfect amount of exfoliation—not too soft, not too rough—and the most delightful smell. I love that it’s a powder that activates when combined with water or your current cleanser.
Mountainside Spa offers a variety of spa services including body scrubs, facials and an impressive variety of massages (deep tissue, reflexology, Swedish) and therapies (hot stone, altitude remedy, dry skin relief).
And of course they have an amazing selection of Eminence Organics, one of the best organic skin care lines available.
If you’re within driving distance of Mountainside Spa, you’ll want to stop by Thursday, September 10th from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. as the spa celebrates their grand opening. Visitors will be treated to free mini facials, seated massages and sweet treats. SOLD!
Grab a girlfriend, sister, mom or all of the above and head to Mountainside Spa in Old Mill. Then head to Market Street Grill, Happy Sumo, Zupas or any of the other yummy restaurants within walking distance for lunch. Basically it’s the best way to spend an afternoon.
