My kids go back to school on August 19th. AUGUST 19th, PEOPLE! That is less than three weeks away. Panic is starting to set in as I think about all the things still left to do—shop for school supplies and first-day outfits, figure out who needs a new backpack (hopefully no one) and stock up on all the fixings for packing lunches.
Okay, I’m officially stressed.
The first few items on that list aren’t too difficult (as long as I let the teenagers do their own outfit shopping), but that last one—the school lunch thing—requires a bit of creativity to ensure the lunches they tote to school have a good balance of food groups and fun. And fortunately that fun can be super tasty and less than 200 calories thanks to M&M’S® Crispy returning to store shelves for the first time since 2005.
In fact, M&M’S® Crispy was the company’s most requested variety to bring back between 2005 and 2014. I’m not surprised. They’re made with rich milk chocolate and have a sweet rice puff center that’s crispy and crunchy and coated in that famous candy shell. Mmm… All of that goodness packed into 180 calories makes for the perfect bit of fun in the lunches my teenagers tote to school.
And yes, I still write their names on their lunches as teenagers.
I also yell, “I LOVE YOU!” out the car window after dropping them off.
If you want to mix the fun up a bit and lower the calorie count by 30, you can take those M&M’S® Crispy packages and combine them with honey graham cereal and marshmallows for an M&M’S® Crispy s’mores mix that’s only 150 calories per serving.
.
There’s nothing like a good s’mores snack and this one has the perfect combo of graham cracker, marshmallow and crispy milk chocolate.
.
Put a 1/2 cup of the s’mores mix in a resealable snack bag and your teenager will love you forever.
