What is Las Vegas Roll Sushi?

A Las Vegas Roll (known as las vegas roll deeply fried ) is typically is made with Cooked or raw salmon(You can choose to cook salmon in the oil as deeply fried or you can use smoked salmon or you can cook in the air fryer).

This roll is crispy from the outside and has an extra kick to it with the jalapeno peppers and spicy mayo sauce as some of the ingredients. The Las Vegas roll ingredients also include avocado or cucumber (you can use both) but what makes this roll special is that it is lightly fried in tempura batter.

Is Las Vegas Roll Sushi Is Healthy?

Yes, Las Vegas roll is one of the healthy sushi rolls recipes that you should try? Cucumber, Avocado, Salmon, rice, and jalapeno are the ingredients of the las vegas sushi, and as you can see all these ingredients are healthy and full of nutritional value and vitamins that are good for your body health.

The only bad thing about las vegas rolls is the deep-fried jalapenos it may contain high calories amount because of the frying oil and tempura batter. So if you want to make super healthy las vegas sushi with fewer calories you can avoid using tempura batter and use a fresh jalapeno. You can also fry the jalapenos in the air fryer without oil, this will help you to lose the frying oil calories.

What is Las Vegas Roll Sushi made of?

Las Vegas rolls are made of very simple ingredients avocado, cooked or raw salmon, cucumber is rolled in nori sheets, and cooked sushi rice. Some people add Tobiko or masago on top while serving but this is an optional step. So let's take a deep look at las vegas roll ingredients.

    • Avocado: Avocado is necessary, so if you want to make delicious las vegas roll, you need to pick a perfect avocado for that. To pick the avocado, Just Put your avocado in the palm of your hand and give it a gentle squeeze. A ripe avocado should be firm with darker colored skin but slightly squishy. If it’s too hard, your avocado is not ripe. On the other hand, if it has too much give, it’s overripe.
    • Cucumber: This is not a necessary ingredient you can avoid if you want. If you want to add cucumber, I Highly recommend using Japanese cucumbers which are long and slender. Avoid using American cucumbers because they have thick skin and too many seeds inside. you can also use it alongside Yamagobo.
    • Sushi Rice: Use high-quality short-grain rice and cook it in the Japanese way, which means steaming the rice that has been seasoned with sushi vinegar. Some of the best sushi rice brands that I’ve worked with are Lundberg Organic California Sushi Rice Botan Calrose Rice, and Nishiki Premium Grade Rice, all of these will give an excellent taste to your Alaskan roll sushi.
    • Nori Sheets: You can find nori sheets in almost any supermarket in the USA or Canada, in the Asian food section. Or you can Buy Online nori sheets from Amazon or Walmart.
    • Jalapenos: this is the main ingredient in the las vegas roll recipe. To Pick a good jalapeno, select those that are deep green and glossy, with a hint of color change to an orange or red on a small part of the pepper. Examine the shoulders of the pepper, where it curves toward the stem. Jalapeno peppers develop small cracks in the skin on the shoulders when they are ready to pick.
    • Tempura Batter: To make tempura batter, break and whisk one egg, then add flour, cornstarch, and curry powder with some baking powder. mix all the ingredients with ice water to become a little bit liquid batter.
    • Salmon: For people who don't have any issues with eating raw fish, they can use raw fish in las vegas rolls. for the other people, you can use smoked or deep-fried salmon, you can also use air fried-salmon. You can choose to cook frozen salmon sticks in the air fryer and use it in the las vegas rolls.
