I love any and all reminders about the reason for the season, especially when I get caught up in the craziness that is holiday shopping (only 10 days left!), gift giving (wait, who is getting what?), food preparing (potluck dish #219), event attending (when is the 2nd grade sing-along again?) and all things eating (peppermint Oreo shakes all around!).
Too often (every year, in fact) the greatest gift of all is lost among the sparkly, shimmery trimmings, for it is not sparkly nor is it shimmery. This gift does not need decoration for it is absolutely beautiful and remarkable without them.

He is the Gift. God’s greatest gift to humankind, in fact. Through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we can find peace and joy that will last long after the holiday decorations have been put away.
He’s pretty much the best. gift. ever.
