There’s no denying it, the holidays are here. Christmas decor has sat atop the store shelves since before the Halloween costumes went on clearance. Before you know it—and long before your hidden Halloween candy stash runs out—you’ll be planning Thanksgiving feasts, holiday parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
I actually love hosting holiday parties with all the delectable dishes, delightful decor and gathering guests. I enjoy nothing more than cooking, baking and decorating. What I don’t love is the non-food pre- and post-party prep work, you know, the sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, wiping of counters and hiding of anonymous piles of socks, papers and LEGOs. That’s why when it comes to holiday cleanup, I’ve enlisted the help of my kids. It’s why we had them after all.
With our mix of carpet and hardwood floors plus a staircase that is the bane of my existence, vacuuming is one of the most important jobs, so a vacuum cleaner that makes the job easier is a holiday miracle. And an early holiday miracle came our way when we received the new Hoover Air Cordless Lift Upright Vacuum. It’s so cool, George couldn’t wait to bust it open and show you all the awesomeness.
First, it swivels.
I know. The photo looks staged, and this one is but it accurately reflects the expression he made when he first discovered this feature.
Second, it has a headlight, which makes for spotting LEGOs a heck of a lot easier.
Third, the rotating brush automatically stops spinning when the vacuum is upright. You can also manually turn it off to vacuum hardwood floors. I love this so much!
Fourth, you can detach the canister to easily navigate up and down “unique” staircases, in and around couch cushions and all over car seats to suck up crumbs left over from that ride to Grandmother’s house.
Fifth (and possibly George’s favorite), you can use the handle and bendable brush attachment to extend the hose for those hard-to-reach door frames, plant shelves and light fixtures.
I wouldn’t normally worry about the top of this door frame but you can easily see it as you come down the stairs. Dang.
George had so much fun testing out the Hoover Air Cordless Lift Upright Vacuum, I couldn’t help but share with you his favorite features.
He’s a natural.

George wasn’t able to cover all the Hoover cordless coolness, so here are a few more fun facts:
- No plugging and unplugging (or ripping the plug out of the outlet as you go around a corner), no winding and rewinding and no accidental whipping of the dog as you flip the cord over a chair.
- Multiple options with interchangeable batteries means versatility when it comes to messes; size doesn’t matter because you have it covered with three cordless vacuums and a hard floor wet cleaner.
- LithiumLife batteries have double the capacity of standard 18-volt lithium Ion batteries which means longer runtime and fade-free power so the kids can clean twice as much house before using a dead battery as an excuse to give up.
- Windtunnel 3 technology provides awesome suction power to lift and remove dirt; plus it keeps the kids entertained as they watch the dust and gunk fly around the wind tunnel. (It makes it easier to unearth and retrieve LEGOs as well.)

What an adorable helper. My grandson would love to clean with this vacuum.

He had such a great time! Let’s hope the enthusiasm lasts as long as the vacuum! ;)
