Today’s green smoothie recipe is by Laurie and Tiffany from Nature’s Knockout. Considering how much I enjoy chocolate, this one is going in my recipe book for sure!
We have too many favorite green smoothie recipes to pick from…but if you’re looking for the perfect green smoothie for a picky “I hate green smoothies” kind of person, this just might be your lucky day! This green smoothie puts the life back in the old saying “death by chocolate!” Funny, but it is actually power loaded with nutrients and really rich in those wonderful anti-aging antioxidants. So what are we waiting for?
Death By Chocolate Green Smoothie*
* Actually, maybe we should be calling this one “Life By Chocolate” since this will keep you around a lot longer than the alternative!
2 frozen bananas (peel them before freezing or life will be very frustrating!)
1/2 to 1 cup almond, rice or coconut milk (depending on how thick you like it)
1 to 2 cups organic spinach, collards or kale
12 drops liquid stevia or 2 T raw honey
2 T raw cacao powder
Dash of sea salt (optional)
1 small handful of almonds or walnuts, chopped
Cacao nibs to sprinkle on top (optional)
Mix all ingredients except chopped nuts and cacao nibs in a blender. Blend well. Add nuts and pulse once or twice. Pour into a glass and sprinkle cacao nibs on top for even more yummy nutrients. Makes 2 servings (unless you feel like drinking the entire thing of course—only speaking from experience!).
