This week it’s more like “called to shop.”
How the heck did that happen?
I instantly fell in love with the surf-inspired fashion at the new downtown clothing boutique during my sneak peek in early August. Located next door to Blickenstaff’s toy and candy store (a family favorite), Called to Surf has some of the most fresh, most fun styles I’ve seen in a long time.
I’m a California girl at heart, so maybe that’s the reason I could’ve spent all evening window shopping. It’s probably a really good thing the registers weren’t up and running. I mean, check out these scarves…to die for!
Before you think Called to Surf is just a women’s boutique, let me assure you it offers plenty of coastal style for men. The selection of swim shorts and fun, vintage-inspired tees was impressive.
Of course I only paid a little attention to the men’s side of the store. I was far too busy checking out the women’s handbags and shoes…
…and a swimsuit or two.
Madison kind of fell in love with the store too. Can you blame her? I mean, those sunglasses look fabulous on her!
Though the kids’ back-to-school shopping is done, I’m not so sure mine is.
I know, I know, I’m not officially in school but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t have a new outfit…complete with shoes and handbag.
I’m thinking lunch with a girlfriend followed by a little shopping at Called to Surf is a great way to kick off the new school year. Perhaps it will become a fabulous new tradition. One can only hope.
